Overview
My Brother is a Superhero was written by David Solomons. It's a story about an 11 year old boy whose older brother becomes a superhero with 6 powers bestowed upon him by a being from a parallel universe. The storyline follows Luke, the younger brother, as he helps his now superpowered brother become a real superhero.
What I Liked
- All the comic trivia that Luke knows.
- The sheer amount of personality that went into the comic shops.
- The fact that Luke's brother wanted to become a doctor and get good grades in school.
- The villain is actually a lot like Luke. You get to see what a bad version of Luke would be like in the book.
What I Didn't Like
- I can't really think of anything besides how the characters seem to believe that abilities define who you are and what you can do.
Conclusion
This is a really good book for those who love superheroes and/or comics, like me.
Audience
Middle grade and up.
Content Warning
The villain uses radioactive animals to try and give himself superpowers.
Luke's brother is used as a lab rat, and has his powers temporarily drained.
