Book Review: Winterborne Home: for Vengeance & Valor

Overview

This is a book about an orphan- one of many. April believes that her mother will come back to her, but, for one reason or another, she never does despite April's adamant faith in her. Instead, she ends up partly being the cause of a fire at a museum, and is then placed in Winterborne Home.

What I Liked

  • The relationship between Tim and Violet.
  • All the characters are different without it feeling too forced.

What I Didn't Like

  • It was confusing. The plot was all over the place and I couldn't follow it.

Conclusion

It was a good story. Or at least the parts that I could understand. The "oh wait, they're not really dead!" plot twist was over-used, and while there is a solid conclusion to the story, it doesn't feel like it really fits as well as it could. Unfortunately, I don't really have much to say about this book.

Audience

Middle school and up.

Content Warnings

Attempted murder, nothing too graphic.
