Book Review: The Roar

Overview

Years ago, the animal plague ravished the Earth, then, everyone moved to the northern hemisphere of Europe and Asia, building the wall to hide behind. 30 years later, the first generation is raised behind the wall.

Ellie has been dead for a year now- or so everyone but her twin brother, Mika, believes. He knows deep down that she is not dead, and he is right. Thus, he sets out on a quest to find her when he get's some secret information that means that he can find her if he wins a contest centered around the new podfighter game that's been incredibly popular with the children.

What I Liked

  • How realistic the characters are.

What I Didn't Like

  • The antagonist. He's a jerk.

Conclusion

The book was really well written and I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time that I read it. It's a little mature and disturbing for middle school kids, though.
